Photography. Music. Art in general. There’s just something about the creative process, the human interaction with the world around us and within us, that I just love. My philosophy on art is simple to say, however, honestly it is more of a feeling. When I look at a vivid picture or hear encapsulating music, it does something. I can’t help but smile, because it conjures an emotion. A mood. Maya Angelou recently passed away, an amazing woman who stood up for what was right during the Civil Rights movement and throughout her life via writing, speaking, creativity, etc. A short phrase she said struck me:
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Great art communicates something, it opens up the creators vision to the world and allows interpretation in any possible way, allowing the imagination to run rampant, with no boundaries. A sky without a ceiling. A rainforest without a canopy. There are no boundaries in creativity.
As you can probably already tell, I’m very infatuated with creativity. As for running a good business, I believe that at the end of the day, if the customer is satisfied, I’m satisfied. A successful transaction is one in which both sides benefit; everybody wins. That is my goal every single time I work with someone in order to deliver the results they want. Communication is very important, which is why I always ask the client what they’re looking for. I take any considerations in mind and aim to deliver, whether it’s portraits, events, music festivals, and more.
To sum it up, I will work with what you have in mind, communicate with you, add my own flare (or as I call it, funk), deliver it in the format you desire for professional use, and make BOTH of us satisfied. That’s my philosophy.
